York Queen Margaret's School residential ages 12 - 18
The cathedral city of York is one of the most attractive cities in England. Dating back to Roman times, York has been a leading city of culture, commerce and education throughout British history. The city attracts many thousands of visitors every year from all around the world to see the Roman and Viking heritage, the cathedral, the castle, and picturesque old city. As the centre of government of northern England for many centuries, York was at the heart of many national events and this is reflected in the extensive heritage waiting to be discovered there today. The city is also a thriving commercial and shopping centre, and the surrounding countryside of Yorkshire offers beautiful rolling hills and moorland, coastline and national parks. Queen Margaret's School is situated approximately 5 miles outside of York in the village of Escrick and is set in 70 acres of grounds. The facilities the school has to offer include two swimming pools (one heated indoor and one heated outdoor), eight all weather tennis courts, numerous sports pitches, an all weather pitch, theatre, 9 hole golf course and the school's own riding school. The accommodation is of a high standard with bedrooms for between 2 and 4 people, common rooms, laundry rooms and a dining room.
